| Insomniac Games is a first-party developer for Sony. The company has been around since the beginning of 1994 and has quietly built a reputation for developing top-notch games for the Sony PlayStation. Its first game, Disruptor, was released for the PlayStation in 1996 and garnered praise from all corners of the gaming world, including awards for "Best First Person Shooter" and "Sleeper Hit of the Year". Insomniac then created Spyro the Dragon, which is now part of Sony's Greatest Hits collection, and has sold close to 4 million copies worldwide. Spyro 2: Ripto’s Rage, its third game and also part of the Greatest Hits program, has now sold over 1.5 million copies worldwide. The first two Spyro titles made the purple dragon a household name around the globe and garnered multiple awards from the press. Next comes Spyro Year of the Dragon. |
