| Located in Houston, Texas, Atomic Games is a privately held corporation, employing 30 full-time artists, designers, programmers, and managers. Founded in 1989, Atomic released its first game in 1991. Since that time, Atomic has created 12 products that comprise the V for Victory, World at War, and Close Combat series. Many of these games have garnered numerous awards, including Game of the Year (Strategy Plus magazine, 1991), Software Showcase Award (International Summer Consumer Electronics Show, 1994), the Best of Everything Award (Computer Life, 1996), the Award of Merit for Technical Art (International Technical Art Competition, 1998), and Wargame of the Year (PC Gamer, 1999).
