DESCRIPTION: |
Warthog was founded with the vision of establishing the highest quality, development only studio in the business. Our first project, Starlancer, has been an outstanding success, both technically and commercially and has won and been nominated for several awards. Published and hosted by Microsoft, Starlancer was one of the first multi-player internet games and is still played daily by on-line gamers all over the world. In 1999, as part of a growth strategy aimed at attracting the best talent in the industry, Warthog acquired Sourcery Developments Ltd., a developer with specific skills in Playstation, Gameboy and having particular experience in games aimed at the 4-12 age group. In 1999 the company purchased an 18,000 sq ft office building in Cheadle, just outside Manchester and only 6 miles form Manchester International Airport. These premises not only provide Warthog the headroom needed for growth, they also allow the company to act as a host for associated companies. At the heart of Warthog is an experienced development team whose combined experience covers over 100 game titles across all major platforms, age groups and game genres. At a technical level, Warthog has acquired and developed leading edge technology which is exploited within its games. For example, the "Tusk" engine is an advanced rendering software package that exploits real-time shadowing, portal rendering and motion blending with seamless cross environment transition. |
