Description
In the depths of New York City live two animal cop characters living out their own dreams (Firo, an orange ape and Klawd, an alley cat). But when counterfeit crimes push the city to its limits, the two must knock their differences to the side and clean up the mess that the other cops are yet to achieve. Includes a mix of Isometric platform action, and 1st person shoot 'em up stages, with plenty of laughs along the way.

15 Aug 01 Firo and Klawd is a strange fish from British developers the Oliver Twins, who created Codemasters much-ridiculed Dizzy series.Visually this is light years beyond Dizzy, with backdrops created from an entire rendered cityscape. The two heroes of the title wander around an isometric environment much like 1930s Chicago gangsterland, and indeed, much nefarious goings-on on the street are part of the action. The pair visit various locations, like bars, to propel the plot and get involved in target shoot 'em up sections. The game is a fair old size and chock-ful of ideas, even if the general feeling is that it doesn't quite fit together. --Stephen Fulljames
