Even President Eisenhower's warning about the military industrial complex couldn't have prepared us for this horrifying scenario. PENTA, an armed global corporation, is overthrowing democratic governments in an attempt to create a worldwide military dictatorship. The best defense for our United Republic is a 42-foot-tall piloted robot known as the Iron Soldier. In Iron Soldier 3, you'll take the controls of this powerful and flexible weapon system and engage PENTA forces in close urban combat, preventing their diabolical coup d'état. You'll play through 25 single-player missions or with a friend in the two-player cooperative mode. If you're in no mood to save anybody, you can shoot 'em up in arcade mode or battle a buddy in two-player duel mode. And to best suit your preferences, Iron
Soldier 3 even allows you to chose how you'll split the screen in those two-player modes--horizontally, vertically, or diagonally.
Iron Soldier 3's improvements include a high performance 3-D engine that creates fully texture-mapped and shaded 3-D worlds with rolling terrain and realistic weather effects. Also, the game offers more detailed battlefields as well as enhanced destruction effects of buildings and enemies. Players can choose from three robot types--the standard Iron Soldier, the faster Satry Walker, and the heavily armored CE Tech--as well as 15 mountable weapons, including cruise and homing missiles, flamethrowers, and time bombs. Defensive weaponry includes a jetpack, spy drones, infrared vision, force fields, and an invisibility device.
