E3 Game Preview
Though it doesn't look like a huge upgrade over the last X-Men fighting game, Mutant Academy 2 promises to deliver not only graphically enhanced melees, but also six new playable heroes in addition to the previous 10. Among them are Rogue, Night Crawler, and Havok, plus two secret characters. The game seems to put more emphasis on aerial attacks, which can only help enliven the fights. Activision also packs in some new voice-overs and behind-the-scenes footage from the X-Men film. If you liked the original Academy, chances are you'll find that the members of this year's class have improved over their summer vacation. --Mark Brooks |
